JUNE 7-23 YOU MADE ME LOVE YOU: The Judy Garland Story Created by Gary Upton Starring Jennine Cannizzo with Charlie Grindle In this cabaret-style tribute, “You Made Me Love You” returns to The Footlights Theatre stage for 9 performances! This one-woman tour de force is a loving and affectionate portrait of legendary singer and actress Judy Garland (1922-69). A tragic figure of entertainment who glittered on the outside and recoiled on the inside, our spotlight shines on Judy Garland’s musical and personal life through a potpourri of reminiscences, performances of Garland standards and video clips of Garland herself - including every Judy Garland film in a 14-minute tribute. BELLA, AN IMMIGRANT’S TALE, Performed and Written by Vicki Summers.
Vicki Summers stars in “Bella, An Immigrant’s Tale” which follows the life journey of Ms. Summers beloved grandmother, Bella Indianer, a Russian Jewish immigrant who escaped the pogroms and made a life in America. In addition to her grandmother, Bella, Ms. Summers portrays numerous other characters in the play. It's a story of courage, loss, humor and love, universal themes to which all of us can relate. Ms. Summers primary mission of the play, other than telling her grandmother's amazing story, is to encourage us all to discover and record our own precious family stories before they are lost in time. Originally developed and performed at Cape Rep Theater in Brewster, MA in 2017, “Bella, An Immigrant's Tale” has toured throughout New England, as well as several performances in Daytona Beach and Los Angeles. Ms. Summers was honored to have been accepted into the LA Women's Theater Festival where she performed in 2019.
JUNE 28-30 CASTING ASPIRATIONS: The Backstage Tales of a Casting Director Starring Jeffrey Passero Jeffery Passero is a nationally known casting director, producer, director, actor, and teacher, with a successful feature film and television casting career. This hilarious, heartwarming show looks back at Passero’s career on his last day in the profession as he cleans up his cluttered office, tossing headshots into baskets, and telling true tales of famous people, films and shows you know. In this very enjoyable self-written autobiographical solo play. Passero’s sharp writing has been finely shaped into an assemblage of comical and poignant anecdotes, an enjoyable and enlightening evening of theater. “…Passero’s expressive tenor voice, twinkling eyes, seasoned character actor presence and jovial personality enables him to entertainingly chronicle his interesting life in 75 breezy minutes.” **Jeffrey Passero will be holding a casting workshop on Sunday, June 26. JULY 19-28 THE DATING GAME by Anne Maquire Older, single, and looking. When two unlikely strangers seek out love, they coax their two best friends into joining them for “first date” support. AUGUST 2-25 A CLOSER WALK WITH PATSY CLINE by Dean Regan (Produced through special arrangement with Marquis Entertainment) Country music's greatest lady, Patsy Cline, takes the stage to tell her story through her own unforgettable songs. This production chronicles Patsy's compelling journey, as she climbs to stardom from early honky-tonk and radio days through her rise at the Grand Ole Opry, plus her appearances at Carnegie Hall and Las Vegas. A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline chronicles Patsy’s compelling journey and features her greatest hits, including “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “Crazy” and “I Fall To Pieces.” This production will transport you back in time.
